WHO WE ARE
Located more than 20 miles west of Staunton, this area was settled early and then developed into an industrial area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the establishment of a marble quarry and a cement plant, both of which are now closed. The CSX railroad also passes through the town and was once a vital transportation and market link.
The town incorporated in 1960 and still maintains its local governance with a Major, Town Council and Police Department.
The town continues to have a number of businesses and the Craigsville Elementary School to serve the needs of residents in this western part of the county.
